เพื่อนๆหลายคนที่มุ่งหมายให้ลูกได้เรียนในมหาวิทยาลัยระดับTop ของโลก โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในประเทศอังกฤษ น่าจะเคยได้ยินคนพูดถึงคำว่า “Oxbridge” กันมาบ้าง
วันนี้ “ลงทุนมัม” เลยอยากจะนำมาเล่าให้ฟัง ว่า Oxbridge คืออะไรค่ะ?
อะไรคือOxbridge?
Oxbridgeเป็นคำย่อที่หมายถึง มหาวิทยาลัยที่มีชื่อเสียงอันดับต้นๆของโลก อย่าง University of Oxford และ University of Cambridge
มหาวิทยาลัยทั้งสองแห่งนี้มีความเกี่ยวข้องกัน เนื่องจาก ผู้ก่อตั้งมหาวิทยาลัย Cambridge นั้น เป็นศิษย์เก่าของมหาวิทยาลัย Oxford ทำให้ระบบการศึกษาของทั้งสองมหาวิทยาลัยนั้นมีความใกล้เคียงกัน
ถ้าพูดถึงอันดับของมหาวิทยาลัยนั้น ในปี 2021 มหาวิทยาลัยทั้งสองนั้น ได้รับการจัดอันดับเป็น มหาวิทยาลัยที่ดีที่สุดในประเทศอังกฤษ ในอันดับที่ 1 และ 2 โดย
อันดับที่ 1 ได้แก่ University of Oxford ซึ่งจะมี ค่าเล่าเรียนต่อปี £26,770 – £37,510 ขึ้นอยู่กับโปรแกรมที่เรียน (1,189,080.69 บาท – 1,666,134.35 บาท)
และ อันดับ 2 ได้แก่ University of Cambridge ซึ่งจะมีค่าเล่าเรียนต่อปี £22,227 to £58,038 ขึ้นอยู่กับโปรแกรมที่เรียน (987,435.65 บาท – 2,578,171.02 บาท)
การเรียนที่ Oxbridge เป็นอย่างไร?
ลักษณะการเรียนของทั้ง University of Oxford และ University of Cambridge นั้นจะมีความใกล้เคียงกัน นั่นก็คือ จะเป็นการเรียนในกลุ่มเล็กๆ หรือที่ใน Oxford University จะเรียกกันว่า Tutorial และ Cambridge University จะเรียกกันว่า Supervisions
และความพิเศษอีกอย่างหนึ่งของการเรียนที่Oxbridge นั้น ก็คือ มหาวิทยาลัยทั้งสองแห่งนี้ จะเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยที่มีขนบธรรมเนียมประเพณีพิเศษเฉพาะตัว ยกตัวอย่างเช่น นักศึกษาที่ Oxford นั้นจะ แต่งกายด้วยเสื้อเชิ้ตสีขาว และ กางเกง หรือ กระโปรงสีดำ พร้อมด้วย Bowtie สีขาว และ โบว์สีดำ ในช่วงเวลาของการสอบ และถ้าหากเป็นการสอบแรกนั้น นักศึกษาจะใส่ชุด Gown พร้อมด้วยหมุดดอกคาร์เนชั่นสีขาว เป็นธรรมเนียมที่นิยมปฏิบัติกันด้วยค่ะ
“ลงทุนมัม” เชื่อว่า ไม่ว่าจะเป็น University of Oxford หรือ University of Cambridge ก็ต่างเป็นหนึ่งในมหาวิทยาลัยที่หลายๆคนใฝ่ฝัน และ การที่จะไปถึงฝันนั้นก็ไม่ได้จะเป็นเรื่องง่ายเลย เพราะ คุณสมบัติของนักเรียนที่จะได้รับเลือกไปเป็นนักศึกษาของOxbridge นั้น นอกจากจะต้องเป็นเด็กที่มีความโดดเด่นทางด้านวิชาการแล้ว ยังจะต้องมีจุดเด่นอื่นๆ ที่ทำให้เราเป็นผู้ที่ถูกเลือกอีกด้วย
ยังไง “ลงทุนมัม” ก็ขอเป็นกำลังใจให้เด็กไทยที่ใฝ่ฝันจะไปเรียนที่Oxbridge มั่งมั่นตั้งใจและทำตามความฝันนี้ให้สำเร็จ เพื่อกลับมาเป็นกำลังสำคัญในการพัฒนาประเทศไทยต่อไปนะคะ
